Do you have faith you could win the lotto? Well, all it takes is a little faith and a dollar or two. There are many people who feel they stand a chance of winning the lotto and this is why there are so many low-income households that participate in the lotto. It seems that the lower the income the more likely it is for someone to enter the lotto.

Recent studies have confirmed that the people that have low incomes are much more likely to purchase tickets and this is most likely they need the money more on a daily basis than people who make much more money. One study showed that households which made only $10,000 a year would spend on average at least 3% of this amount on lotto tickets. This can add up to be quite a lot in a year’s time.

The Reason Lower Incomes Buy More Lotto Tickets

Obviously, people who make less money wish to make more and this is part of the reason that people purchase lotto tickets. However the connection between playing the lotto and low income is thought to be a bad thing because low income people try to improve their financial situation with the lotto and most likely it is just a dream.

Also, it is quite common for lower income people to be much less educated than higher income people and this also may play a huge role why they are investing money on a lotto that may only provide false hope. Also, many of the low-income families participate in the state lotto and this one also has the least payout. This is another reason why it would be much better for players to invest in a more sound way to improve their financial status rather than relying on the lotto to do so.

The Psychological Status of Lotto Player

Many of the low-income participants in the lotto may feel down on life and put a lot of faith into participating in the lotto. This is why perhaps so many do play the lotto because it makes them feel much better about a bad financial situation and even though the chances of winning are slim, just the fact that there is a possibility of winning, make people feel better.

Suppose you are uneducated and aren’t making a lot of money? Perhaps you see no way out of this situation, so you try to make the best out of a bad situation. So, you play the lotto. This is why so many people play on a regular basis that is in fact low income. Also, this is a great way to have fun relatively cheaply when you purchase a ticket and set back and wait to win. You may not be able to afford an expensive vacation, so you take a few dollars and play the lotto. This is how many low income people feel about playing the lotto and do so because it may be all they can afford.
